ABOUT TETRA GUN
FTI's TETRA GUN family of patented fluoropolymer microsphere suspensions was developed expressly for firearms and
ballistics applications. TETRA Technology evolved from United States aerospace research. Unlike TEFLON® or petroleum-based lubricants, TETRA GUN electrostatically bonds to metal surfaces, greatly reducing friction and debris attachment.
A surface treated with TETRA is also resistant to rust and rot as TETRA particles provide an effective barrier to the elements. Once TETRA GUN is embedded it will not evaporate or wash off.
Instead, TETRA GUN can only be removed by abrading the treated surface. TETRA GUN is also effective over a broad operating range, an incredible -100°F to +750°F!
Continued regular use of TETRA GUN after each firing is recommended. TETRA GUN
OIL is an excellent bore cleaner which does not employ harsh chemical cleaning solvents or abrasives. Not intended to dissolve lead or copper, TETRA GUN OIL instead keeps the barrel clean by working under, then lifting fouling, which proper use of a brass or copper bristle brush then removes.
BARREL OPERATING EFFECTS
After a few shots, TETRA GUN will become fully embedded into the surface of the firearm bore. The immediate effect is typically larger fired groups with "dirty" bullet holes, as any
residual material in the bore is displaced and "blown-out". Normally, 20-60 rounds of small bore rimfire or 15-20 rounds of larger centerfire, will embed TETRA GUN. Tighter fired groups will then develop as a
cleaner bore is allowed to perform its intended function of stabilizing the bullet. With regular use, shooters can expect higher muzzle velocities and increased resistance to bore fouling and corrosion,
maximizing barrel life.
